I just ordered and picked up an 08 F350 6.4. I just had a fisher plow installed and noticed that the lower valance on my truck is like twice as big as every other 08. I was going to cut it but if I can just buy a smaller one I would rather.
My question is why are they different sizes and if I have to buy the smaller valance where should I but it? Thanks
You think that with the plow prep package, Ford would install the small lower valance but I understand that is not the case. I have a 2008 F250 on order and already called Boss Plows. They said they put a plow on an 08 and they had to cut the valance.
I called the local Ford dealer and was quoted like under 100 for a new valance with a different part number than the one I have. I think that buying the smaller valance is the easiest and best solution for me.
Ok. A dealer 30 miles away had one so I purchased and installed it. Looks good and fits right above the Fisher plates no sweat.
The funny part is the parts guy thought I was a moron on the phone because he didnt understand what I was talking about. I snapped a picture with my camera phone of my valance and showed him. His response was that Ford was replacing my valance with the one I purchased.
The best was the first dealer I called who asked me what JOB2 meant and even after I explained to him what I know of it he told me it didnt make sense.
I am very thankful for the internet and forums because most of these guys are in the dark about most things.
If anyone needs the part number I can get it off the box. The bigger valance isnt even in the system yet so it should be no problem getting one.
Thanks again
