I'm getting really antsy

I almost have my rebuilt 390 done. All new bearings, new rings, Edelbrock cam, Performer intake, headers, rebuilt heads, and a whole lotta time. I am really looking forward to when I can reawaken the beast.

I'm getting really antsy

I got it fired last Monday night. After a few tweaks on the timing and carb it runs real nice. I've only got about 150 miles so far but it seems to be getting stronger as it breaks in. A lot more zip from a stop light already. Fuel mileage still sucks, but I didn't really build a 4 cyl rice grinder did I?

Are you running the performer cam or the RPM cam? I got the impression that the RPM cam was a little to radical for a truck so I went with a Crower Cam.

It the performer cam. I thought the same with the RPM so I avoided it. I could probably put normal size tires on it and it would scream, but then I couldn't go where I wanted.
