<DIR>i notice that iv been having a few delays when i put it into gear.. cuase of low tranny fluid.. so i put a quart again and after a week it does it again.. so i put a piece of carboard. under it and looks if it really does leak and jep.. found the leak and the source.. its this line i dont know if its stock or not.. but i wanna know if i loosen it to put new teflon tape and inspect it will it spill alot??
CLICK ON THE LINKS BELOW.. THE LINE IS RIGHT UNDER THE STARTER... GOING TO THE DRIVER SIDE OF THE TRANNY
get a second person to hold there finger over the nd of the lines and u should be good. just dont get that stuff on ya it sucks to try andf clean it off your clothes
Thats some kind of repair coupling I don't think teflon tape will work on it. It's supposed to be a double flare. I would replace the line either from dealer or junk yard they might even have them at a parts house.

No...........It looks like a simple brass compression fitting splice which is fine for a low pressure cooler line.
Simply tightening the nuts should stop the leak.
You don't use teflon tape on those kind of fittings.
Any time you have brass fittings, you should not need teflon tape. The brass is soft, that is why it is used. The threads will squash down against each other and seal it. Tape or other sealant can actually cause a leak. This only pertains to brass against brass threads.
I have seen the tranny cooler lines repaired by sliding the right size fuel line over the rigid line and hose clamping both ends. Not much pressure in the tranny lines.
Good luck Frank
. . . . . . just as per say of what netscaner has post'd......
.........also, as to what fmr9 has posted, in regards to replacing the "brass connection link for there, IF re-tighening does NOT do the trick; i think the replacement of that link would be your wise's choice of quick & cheap repair; BUT, make sure you use Fuel line for the repair line, NOTrubber vacuum hose, or any kind of rubber with no reinforsement made into........plus, i would use good metal_ screw clamp's, NOT tie rap's or plastic squeeze_clamp kind's.........
. . . . . if that "round" area is a cap, i'd pull it off to see if / how fresh that "red" is leaking, also, it would also give you a good indication of the fluid and where it might be coming from..........
