castironcwby,
Ford stopped putting FEs in their lightduty trucks
in 1977.The 67 through 79 trucks are similar enough that
putting an FE in a 78 or 79 is relatively easy.Engine
mounts, headers and various brackets can be taken from
the FE equipped earlier models and are a pretty much
a bolt in .You may have tough time getting headers for
your project. Its against EPA regs to put an FE into
trucks built after 76 for street use so aftermarket
support for such a swap is practically zip.The output
shafts for the various C-6s (big block, small block or
FE) are interchangeble .
Scott, You might want to check with your states inspection dept or DOT to see if you can get away with doing that swap.
