Every time you believe you are on the right Ford track, it veers off in another direction. I ran your VIN code and it came back

In the cool still quiet of night, you can hear chevies rusting away.
thanks. Any idea on the intake? i don't want to spend money on a performer if this intake will work as good for a mild 390. the truck is a daily driver and is being changed from a t-18 to a c-6
3.89 dana 60.
Obviously, none of us regulars are very familiar with that intake. Until your post, I would have sworn that Ford never offered a 4 barrel intake for the 360/390 in trucks.
That said, I imagine your intake is fine. The standard Ford car 4 barrel intakes are pretty good for truck and other street applications, and most aftermarket units are biased toward high rpm use (which means they typically result in crummy low end torque and poor throttle response). I'm using an Edelbrock Performer FE intake on my current buildup, but that's only because I needed to replace the two-holer that was on the engine. Consensus opinion around here is that the Ebock is almost identical to the late 60s cast iron 4 barrel manifolds Ford put on car 390s.
I'd recommend keeping that intake. It's probably a very rare option, which is pretty cool, and it's unlikely that an aftermarket unit would add any performance.
thats what i was looking for thank you I have a aluminum street dominator intake also but don't like the single plane intakes for street. I would like to put this thing into my 71 f250 for hauling and dailey drivin so I am going with the stock 4 brl intake.
now to find a 428 crank?
