Smile leafspring difference

Just wondering what the difference is between the 67-77 and the 78-79 front F250 leafsprings, and can I use a 78/79 front leafspring on my 75?
Thanks

I almost forgot, I measured my front springs and they are 3" wide and 53" in length. Would anybody with a 78/79 F250 4x4 mind measuring their springs and post it? Thanks

They are all 53 inches long. The difference is the factory arch. Early trucks had pos. arch springs, and 77.5 to 70 trucks had neg arch units. Length however remained the same.
There are also some differences in hangers, and shackles. The 77.5 to 79 hangers and shackles are longer.
They also fasten too the frame differently. Bolts VS rivets.

Ahh, so technically, you could use the 78/79 springs. The reason being is that I found some 4" front lift springs on the Bronco Graveyard site that are cheaper than the 67-77 springs for a 4" lift. Just trying to save a hundred dollars or so. Not trying to cut corners on my project build, just trying to save a buck or two, kinda like geico. LOL Hey 75F350, thanks for the hanger info BTW, I'll get the pics up soon. That's the reason for the front now.

Cool man, but there is a reason they are cheaper. The 4" lift spring for the 77.5-79 trucks are about the same as the stock 73-77.5 spring. remember the arch thing I was talking about? Later model springs were neg arch, and the early ones were pos arch. That means that if you buy a later model (77.5-79) front 4" spring, you may not gain any lift when used under a 73-77.
Plenty of guys use a factory 73-77 spring under thier 77.5-79 trucks for approx 4 inches of lift., but it does not work the opposite way.
Just do not want you to run right out and buy something that will not lift your truck.
Make sense? Kinda tricky to understand, and unfortunately it all makes sense after you buy the wrong spring.
Man I hate it when that happens.
