yeah it does, mainly cause the exhaust system ends at the downpipe. It has that nice whistle and when you get on it, the big block comes roaring out. I ordered a cat delete pipe but couldnt install it cause the flange holes didnt line up with the downpipe bolts. The flange holes are 1/4" to narrow compared to the downpipe bolts. I'm working it out with ITP.

How should i get rid of the muffler? I thought about welding in a pipe. Cause its still too quiet(at idle and rev cause i couldnt drive with the exhaust not bolted together)

If u wanna really hear that turbo and engine do what most of us do get rid of the crappy stock downpipe, its useless, get a 3"-4" one from Tymar Performance. then a 4" or 5" exhaust open all the way back either to stacks or before rear tire(cheaper), or exit stock location. You wont be dissapointed. Good Power increase too.

i stuck a hunk of 4 inch pipe in place of the muffler and used band clamps so if i needed to install it again its a quick 5 minute job

There was a nice power increase with no exhaust past the stock downpipe. I was planning on slowly pieceing together a system. But now that my ITP cat delete pipe doesnt fit the stock downpipe, I might have to pony up the cash for one. But man does it sound good, since its amplified from the bottom of the truck, just alittle too loud when your really on it.

c00nhunterjoe: I'm thinking about doing that but welding in a piece of T409 pipe.

i personally dont care for the stainless, it seems pointless to me unless you have a full time show truck, its just going to get dirty on the road and thats alot of pipe to clean all the time. the stock pipes dont rust out unless you let them sit for long periods of time. if you thik you have power after dropping the kitty then wait till you get the round downpipe in.

A T-304 system will not rust or oxidize. It will develop a golden color over time when exposed to high heat. T-409 has enough ferrous material in it that it will show surface oxidization, especially when exposed to salt or calcium chloride. This oxidization can be buffed off with stainless steel cleanser and a scouring pad. Rust through will not occur until well past the warranty period even under the most severe conditions.

I believe the stock system was t409
