Hey i was driveind around today and i toasted my tranny. I have first and second saometimes but it wont go into third. Im not really sure what the best way to go is...rebuild or buy a new one. let me know what the best way or brand and the cheapest way any ideas would help thanks.... i do want one that is beefed up i have stage 1s and looking into 2s.
cheapest way= rebuild yourself
if not a rebuilder then bts seems to be the best around here, def not cheap
before you condemn it for good then can you pull codes in the tranny? what were you doing when it died? you could get lucky and have a sensor out, but running an edge that sbad news for a ford tranny
i have no idea, i've heard good and bad about both, i wouldnt buy either one, i like rebuilding my own stuff, i can build the same thing for a fraction of the cost, with the exception of a tc of course, that would have to be purchased
well i dont have the knowledge or the time to do it myself im in st. clair michigan and i was going on it pretty hard and when it was suppose to shift into third it jumped out then it slammed into second and got stuck. then it just slipped a whole lot.
o well to late now and im not going back to stock but i might be goin stage 2s so what woudl be the best way to go rebuild or new tranny? and what would the price differences be like?
well a new tranny will be a rebuild anyway, so if you mean to have it rebuilt locally or not well then that would all rely on wether you have a tranny guy thats worth the money. If your goin stage 2's you should consult either BTS, ATS, or Suncoast and buy a built tranny from them and send them your core. either way its gonna be a little spendy, but with reliability and high hp handling abilities comes a bigger price tag.
