engine oil temp- located on the backside of the high pressure pump resevoir, 2 wire connector, and intake air temp sensor- located in stock airbox. the pcm takes those 2 readings and determines on-time from there, it also uses those sensors for exhaust backpressure valve activation too
Definatly unplug the EBPV. It's supposed to aid engine warm up but causes more trouble than it's worth. The EOT mod tricks the PCM into thinking the engine oil is still cold. The PCM adds more fuel and advances the injector timing but the higher RPM's suffer.
BTW: The Barometric Pressure (BARO) Sensor controls the GP not the IAT.
The glow plug system is electronically controlled by the powertrain control module. The powertrain control module energizes the glow plugs immediately after the key is placed in the ON position and then determines how long the glow plugs will be on according to the engine oil temperature and the barometric pressure. The required time for the glow plugs to be energized decreases as the engine oil temperature and barometric pressure increase.
Yes The EOT mod does mess up GP on time I did it then un-did it because the GP's would stay on same amount of time when hot as they did when cold. and I believe thats hard on them, but you could do a Switchable EOT mod where you flip a switch to gain the timing you want then turn it on after you start so the GP's turn off as normal.
