Any good sources (factory manuals etc) that show what the 10 ka-jillion holes in my '49 Frame ahead of the Cab were used for ? Exploded Views ?
Some are obvious, and I suspect others accomodate 6 cyl vs. 8 cyl configuration or certain options. Looks like there was a right-hand drive option. Some I just don't get at all.
Are ya considering filling them? I just noticed mine too after removing a bunch of rivets, and thought of filling them in, but don't know if I should. As for all the other holes, i'll have to look through my manual. Might take me a while.
Yeah, I'm going to be filling holes this weekend. I don't think it's a big deal since I know which ones I need. I was just curious to know why they were there to begin with. Tooling location may indeed be a reason. Hadn't thought of that.
I'll ditto Dick's observation. They've got to jig holes. As I've worked on my MH frame I've compared it to a standard frame. Same holes in exactly the same locations for no apparent reasons. Got to be for assembly line jigs, stamping jigs, or similar.
