Never thought I would EVER do this, but I went and test drove a new dodge. I would rather punch myself repeatedly than be seen in an 08 superduty. Come to the conslusion that I'm going to keep my 00 forever, and transplant a 12v into my old 79 f-250 supercab. I almost bought a new 06' and talked myself out of it, wish I wouldn't have.

Chuckle.......I did the same thing. After driving a dodge and duramax I was ready to get a discounted 06 since they were the same price and truck as the 07's but all were gone! Ended up dickering around on the 07's till they were bout gone, at least ones equipped like I wanted and then found a truly loaded 07 and bought it even though it had more stuff than I wanted. I love my 07 and still like the cummins cause it is so easy to boost hp on and work on, But all in all the PSD is a modern design while the cummings dates from the forties and will soon have to be replaced so in the future things may change.

Going to get slammed for this one, but I like my '08 SD CC a lot, and I get many compliments on it thus far. I have removed most of the orange blobs, however, and that makes a huge difference. Have never seen a good looking dodge, old or new.

I have a Ford by the way. Beauty is always subjective, but seriosuly, you wont be blowing past any thing as the Fords are the slowest of the Big 3. Even in magazine tests.

I don't give bleeping!!!! about front end of 08 SD. I bought mine for toughies. The bad PSD and fact it can pull about anything out their for trailer. It's assume truck and I am diehard Ford man I love all the Ford trucks and cars out their. I know somepoeple don't think that, but it's great truck and you can beat on them and they still keep on ticking.

Yeah but how many of them are still running around still working after 900,000 miles? I know of two SD's that are.

Ah, yes, are they still as fast with 14000# hooked to them? I did a lot of research on the big 3 comparisons - not a lot of real controlled testing info available. A visit to the Dodge web site revealed an interesting fact - those higher tow ratings are only available on the short box versions, and most of the tech details are vague, not spelled out like Ford does. (Talking 3500 here, comparing to F350).

As to Cheby -used the build and price for a 2007 3500 silverado as the 2008 wasn't on line. Used base vehicle, equiv to XL, and similar options. Price msrp was about the same as the 2008 F350 XL. However, some options were not available (at least on the Chevrolet build & price website.Things I got on the XL and not on the Silverado included tilt steering wheel, Tow Command, 18 in wheels, 4.10 rear, etc. Gross weight was higher on the Silverado by 400#, but DRW was standard to get that GVWR vs 11000 on the F350 SRW.

And of course there is no V10, so without going to diesel, that 457 ft/lb of trailer movin torque isn't there. So convince me that I went wrong.......
And one last fact - the Dodge specs boast a 120 MPH speedometer - like anyone in his right mind is going to take one of the 6-7000# beasts and drive it that fast?

Hey lighten up. I remember my first look at my daughter when she was born, boy was she ugly. I thought to myself noway this could be mine, must have swapped my baby for a pygmie gnome's baby. However, she blossumed into a beautiful young lady, camellia princess, and is now a managing registered civil engineer that builds bridges! Trust me guys, she'll grow on ya.
Northland, right on, aint no better trucks made anywhere. Just look at the japs and notice who they copy. Notice the resemblence to the SD in the grills of both the toy and titan? Don't see no snout on them or bowtie! The japs know who rules in the truck world and they are belly up to the plate copying them.

So, what if someone made a grill for the 2008 SUper Duty that mimicked a 1956 F series?

Or, maybe an early 60's grill?

Would it look better?
