I love my 07 and still like the cummins cause it is so easy to boost hp on and work on, But all in all the PSD is a modern design while the cummings dates from the forties and will soon have to be replaced so in the future things may change.
I figured I would catch the 07's on leftover, but all the dealerships got spanked on the 06's and didn't get but probably 10% of the previous superduty inventory to make way for the 08's. By the time I thought of it, I was already behind the game. Ohh well, injectors, turbo, big clutch and lockers in the stroker should keep me happy for a while, and build something big and fun for the weekends. If I find the right 05-6-7 stroker I might get another payment.

I sat at the dealership for about an hour, thinking about chopping and lowering the headlights on an 08.

Yes !!!!!!!!!!!! I dig all that chrome.

The test on durability will be put to these F350 & F450's.
We have a crew of guys that would make Kryptonite look like caffeine to Superman.
I feel sorry for the new vehicles and we (the guys that keep them in the fleet) can't believe how the weak points get discovered so quick.
Like the headlight switch ***** on 2000? maybe it was 1999 trucks. We needed them before any dealer had them locally. We had to IVO them at least twice.
I have to agree that since I started this thread I have gotten used to them a bit. They drive fine and are farely comfortable in ride.
The F350's & F450's are a real truck and not what momma would like.

So if your tender behinds can't deal with the true trucks aka (FORD).
Don't visit FTE website and go buy your "bowtie" or any wannabee copycat.

I'm sorry guys. I lit the fuse and It went BOOM.
Rich.

I was at the dealer yesterday getting a power steering box replaced on my 06 and had a chance to really look over the new 08's. Like everyone has said on this thread, the headlights are "unique", to put it politely. However, I really liked the interior on the Lariats and KR's, especially with the NAV option. It does not look like a "work" truck anymore.

Have to agree with Puller. Mine is loaded...Lariat & Nav system, sunroof, etc. It still serves it's purpose hauling, trailering, four wheeling on the beach, etc, but is great inside for both short & long trips. I'm also not embarassed when giving a customer a lift!

I hated those things. Then my wife kept saying how great they were so when I couldn't find an07 equipped exactly like i wanted but I found one that wa s almost but had a sunroof, I bought it. Hated spending the extra money, but I tell you, when it started snowing inside my cab while climate control heating cooling system was on i fell in love with them. aint regretted the extra 600 buks since.
Oh, by the way, if you got one don't forget to close them if it starts to rain<smile>

Alright Im comming a bit late into this discussion but Im glad people are on the same page as I am about the new Super Duties. At the local dealership the only ones there at the moment are XLs. Absolutely hanious. How much money could they actually be saving by using those recessed headlights there? The big black XL grills are ugly too (the XL grills have never looked as good as the Chrome ones on any body style).

I also feel the dashboard is too masive and imposing too. The Super Duty insignia on the tailgate and grill is lame to say the least. I just think its too much.

The Chrome grill units look hot, I actually enjoy the looks of those execpt for the Super Duty molded in. Its not needed at all.

Ill have to check out the new E-series, I havent seen any of those around...just a spy shot of one in Truck Trend with one of those grill masks on.
