turbine sound
how can i get more of the turbine sound ? is there a way to make it sound like a jet? i have a 4 " turbo back, 6637 filter,WW,and shaved the insulation off the cooler pipe. what else can i do ? i walked by an f250 the other day and it sounded awsome!! the turbine was so loud that i could not hear the engine.

The only thing I can think of is a turbo upgrade. For me, the 6637, Foil Delete, WW, and 4" MBRP with muffler is plenty.

A total straight pipe will help some. Also, the ATS compressor housing will give more whistle. The ATS combined with a WW is supposed to be a real screamer. The BB turbos available for our trucks are also supposed to whistle pretty loud.

The one you heard was probably an '03 6.0L. They're almost obnoxiously loud when straight piped. Just at idle they SHRIEK... just piercingly loud.
One guy has actually installed an '03 6.0 turbo onto his 7.3L. Can't really get that particular sound any other way. Like Jeremy suggested, ATS housing, wicked wheel, BB turbo will give you more of a whine from the turbo, but not that piercing sound from the exhaust like the 6.0. BB turbos sound very sweet, though.
