I am needing to identify a few things about my 390. Is there a website out there that will do a decoding on a VIN number? Or is there someone out there who knows how to decode a VIN? If so, please post back on this!
I've seen afew websites with decoders. They were mostly collector car sites,(Galaxie Owners or Mustang. I think these are correct). What VIN are you trying to decode? Also Mitchell Repair Manuals have some VIN breakdowns.
Jason, As far as I know the vin decoder will only tell you that you have a 390 installed at the factory. If you need further info on your 390 just post your question on this forum. Remember this also, the FEs were pulled from production in 76 if I remember corrctly, and a lot of changes could have been made to your engine since then.
