I pull 10k every day, 150 to 300 miles a day. Doesnt matter if Im loaded or empty as long as I keep er below 70 I get 16.4. Im real happy with it especially for 312,000 on ticker. One clutch, one trans 3 ball joints, and alot of brakes and tires.
early 99 SCLB 4x4 6spd 5" exhaust: Got about 18 with a mix of city and freeway driving untill I lifted it 6" and put 35's under it. Now I get about 16.
when i was driving mine every day to work and back about 60 miles round trip most of it was at 60 i'd get 18 now that i don't i get 16-17 my foot has gotten heavier b/c i'm not feeding it every week only about ounce a month
the sad thing is that the 95 ranger with the 4.0L 4X4 auto that i'm driving now only gets 18 but it's kept almost 6000 miles off of the big truck since i bought
Earl,
I am driving a 2000 and can tell you that it is luck of the draw. Some of these engines do better than others. I got 15-18 new, than 11-13 after 100K miles now working out problems and just got 15mpg back. The point is that what we expect and what is actual will depend on too many variables to list. Bigger question: What do they sock you for diesel where you live?
