valve spring/pushrod shield placement

I've taken the valve covers off my 352 and these shields are in diferent places on both sides. Do I still need them, where do they go? and what do they do? I have pictures but don't know how to post. post your e-mail or e-mail me Ford67Ranger(No Email Addresses In Posts!) and I'll send them to you to see if you can help me.

Thanks
Nate

These are oil baffles to keep the oil up around the valve stem seals where it is supposed to be.

Looks to me like the lower picture is the correct way to mount the baffle/shield. At least thats how they are on my 2 390's

Just a side note... I have a pair of the 'three finger' or fast drain back type on mine and the bolt holes are different. The one for the oil passage is a bit larger than the other ones.
