Well you could allways get your under drive pulley from under dog, they really work for unleshing more hp and torque. They cost a bit more for the 4.0 because of our built in harmonic balancer.
quick question after reading all of this...are you guys installing these yourselves? How difficult is this to do? If you are having the kit's installed, where are you taking them and what's a ballpark figure for the labor to have this done?

Question 1: I just installed the Superlift myself.
Question 2: It depends on your skill level, ability to follow directions, how close you are to a hardware store, if you have air tools, and whether you have all the tools you need. With each negative answer to the above requirements, the difficulty level rises and the time required increases. It took me three 10 hour days because of various difficulties.
Question 3: don't know - see question 1.
The Superlift seems like a relatively well engineered kit, but they have a well deserved reputation for not including all the nuts & blots you need to complete the job. In addition, some changes have been made to the Ranger and to the kit that are not reflected in the instructions, and you need to puzzle these out. A friend to lend a hand is especially helpful.
The two worst (not only) discrepancies I encountered are:
1) The U-bolts for the rear lift DO NOT fit a FX4 Level II Ranger differential (tube diameter is larger). You'll have to supply these yourself. The pisser is that Superlift doesn't tell you this anywhere (unless you call and order from them), and it's up to you to be suprised when you have it all torn apart and try to re-assemble it with the supplied parts.
2) On my vehicle, the lower body of the front shocks comes too close to the half-shafts and I was unable to use them. Quarter-inch shims would be required under the lower mounts to utilize the supplied shocks. I chose to fabricate an extension for the top mount to allow me to use the Rancho 9000X shocks I already had (they're better than the junk Superlift sells). A home lathe comes in handy.
This was all especially stressful for me because the fires here in San Diego started the day after I tore the truck apart and I was fearful that I'd have to abandon the truck up on jackstands while fires swept thru. Fortunately, I was able to throw it together, load up what belongings I could fit, and evacuate to a safer friends house. I drove to an alignment shop the next day (still with the un-lifted rear suspension and loaded with my belongings) where I was able to buy the right sized U-bolts and have them installed while I got the front end aligned.
One minor brain-fart I had was that I forgot to set the front lift height before I got the alignment. It looks okay now (still loaded), but I won't know how much adjustment is required until I can go home and unload the truck, providing my house doesn't get burnt down with all my tools...

Hey guys im going to jump in on this...i have a 04 ranger 4x4 and is Superlift the only company that makes a 4x4 lift for the ranger?? and wendell are the under drive pulleys just one or is a whole new set? and where from??
It's just the crank pully with the built in harmonic balancer, but it makes a difference you can feel. Of all my mods, the udp and bama did the most to unleash some power, the exhaust and intake make more noise than power, but I still say there worth having.
It was like 250.00 bucks, I bought it new from a guy over on the rps forum a year and a half ago, maybe longer, don't remeber, it's been awhile, it was in a group buy. It was from underdog, jusnes modified, one of our sponsors here sells them as well.
