We have a regular cab F-350 DRW 2wd that the parking brake will not hold the truck on a hill. Where do you adjust the parking brakes? I posted this topic in the brakes forum, but no replies.
Also, we have a flat bed on this truck. On the outside of the left frame rail is what i believe to be the main cable and the equalizer bar that divides into two cables. Do i take the slack out here, or adjust the drums?
What year is it? The parking brake should be on the inside of the rear rotors - they are just basic drum-brakes. There is a star-wheel adjuster for them, there should be a slot on the back of the backing plate.

Krewat is exactly correct. I just adjusted the parking brake on my 99 which I purchased about 3 weeks ago now. ( LOVE this truck BTW !! )
If you look on the rear brakes, just below the axle tubes, you will find a rubber dust cap. Remove the rubber caps with a screwdriver and the star adjuster will be exposed. You will need a brake adjusting tool to adjust the star adjuster, just like you would on any drum brake vehicle.
My pedal would go down to the floor before it would grab, now it grabs firm about 1/2 way through the pedal travel, which is where I like it to be. Try to put the same number of turns on each side so you don't have one side doing all of the work. If you have any doubts, put the truck in neutral and jack the rear axle off of the ground (PLEASE chock the front wheels when you do this). After your adjustment, with the parking brake off, there should be no drag from the parking brake. If you have drag from the brake, back it off some. It's sort of tough to tell if you have an LS diff like I do, but you can tell if you feel/look closely.
I have a 2001 it has disk rear breaks for the main breaks and the parking breaks are drum breaks adjustable with a screw driver or break tool. I replaced the parking break shoes on mine. not an easy job takes patients.
