I searched this forum, but the results were inconclusive. Where can I get a replacement antenna, preferrably the extension-part that screws to the base? I bought one on Ebay (I know, but sometimes it works...) that was advertised as a correct replacement made by an actual antenna manufacturer, but the base is different, and I can't directly bolt it in (at least I can't figure out how).
I got the old base out thru the fender, and it sure would be nice to just un-screw the old part from the base and replace it. I can't seem to find a replacement with a base advertised that LOOKS like the stock one I removed.
I bought one from Dennis Carpenter and it is a perfect match and very heavy duty. Antenna comes with a heavy gauge wire with right angle to fit the stock radio or whatever after market radio you have. Kit also included a heavy rubber grommet to seal the hole into the cab. Only downside of the Carpenter antenna is that it only telescopes down to 12", so you will need to cut a hole in your cover if you use one. Not a big deal, I have done that and it is easy to R&R the cover.
