Always wanted a rearview mirror with temp. and compass display. Was this an option on the 2005 F350 Lariat. If so any one know where I an get one? Also like the factory Nav system too! Thanks
The compass is next to your odometer and the outside temp is displayed on your climate control.
Is this an option? I noticed in the manual a Message Center (If Equipped) it also talkes about a info/setup/reset buttons. Is this something I can get off a salvage truck or find on ebay? Thanks
First, good luck finding a salvage truck that is worth anything. Because of the value of these trucks, it takes a lot to total them.
Second, I doubt it would be very easy to retrofit them if you don't already have it. Most likely the dash cluster would need changing, and who knows what you would have to do to get it working right since it integrates with the PCM and PATS system if you truck has it. Would def have to get a Ford tech involved to reprogram/relearn everything.
well, if you need the buttons for the dash, i have a dash panel from an 06sd for sale. it has those buttons, the auto climate control console, and the headlight switch. check my gallery for a pic. make me a decent offer and its yours.
there are cheaper ways to get a compass on your dash:
My uncle has one of these, every time he buys a new truck, he cheaps out and gets the cheapest package possible. As soon as he gets home, he slaps and ugly compass on just like the one pictured above. I can hardly contain the laughter. Why would you to that to a new truck, I would carry one in my pocket rather that slap an ugly peice of crap on my dash like that.
Ahhh..... The good old days... Thanks Rogue for posting that marvelous pic of when cars were cars and interior styling was king.... They sure dont make 'em like that anymore.... Whatever happened to those beautiful round rubber shift boots that were screwed into the floor under a chrome ring with some simple sheet metal screws... and those stylish dashes... Brings a tear to my eye....

Actually FastCote posted the pic, I just commented on it.
Ya, it wasn’t actually my car, but I had many like it: no floorboards; start with a screwdriver; various parts falling off in the street... The gold ‘ole days.
Good thing mid-life kicks in and you get to get NICE wheels
