XC-2 reprogram?

I have an '08 F150 ordered, same engine/trans as my '05, (5.4 auto). Can I keep the XC-2, put the stock tune back in the '05 & have new tunes made for it or does it have to be sent in for reprogram or whatever. Can Troyer do his magic with it?

Yes, you can do that. Troyer can send you tunes, but first:

1. Restore stock tune.
2. Download liveload from SCT's site. Unlock the tuner.
3. Download Liveupdate from SCT's web site, and the 1.15 XCal2 upgrade. Upgrade the XCal 2 to the latest release (1.15). For 2007+ Ford increased the size of the onboard memory and the XCal needs to be upgraded to work with it.

When contacting Troyer, make sure you let him know you were referred from Ford-trucks.com. He sometimes hands out a discount for that.

Does anyone make a monitor so I could keep the XCal? I like that feature on the Edge Evolution but liked the performance increase I got using the XCal.

MSD makes one. Its the same as the Edge, without the tuning.

I followed your directions, I'm updated now to the 1.15, thanks for the help. I've contacted Troyer for the tunes, anxious to put it to use, it sure made a difference on the '05.
