4R100 Transmission
I have a year 2000 Winnebago (37.5 ft) with a Ford 6.8 L and a 4R100 transmission. I just changed the fluid to a synthetic made by Royal Purple before we left on a 6000 mile trip. The unit started with 12000 miles and now has 18000 miles after the trip. In the middle of the trip at the Grand Canyon entrance I felt a quick slippage twice in 3rd gear as we were climbing the hills. It had just rained also. After all that it seemed okay for the next 1000 miles. Several days later in the hills of Penn it happened again and it was raining. I also noticed some vibration for a few seconds. We finished our drive back to Mass. Any clues would be a big help if something is wrong.

Please!!
Hi- Someone must have experienced the same events described above under the 4R100 transmission. Any help would be appreciated. I do not know whether to ignore the "slipping" or bring it in and have work done. If I bring it in what should I ask them to do?????

Did the engine speed increase when this happens? I've seen something similar, it was an engine miss. On my V10 there were a couple boots between the coils and plugs that had cracks. Whenever it was wet or even humid I would get random engine misses.
