engine squeal on upshift

engine squeal on upshift
I replaced my alternator thanks to the fine knowledgebase that is known as the forums.
However, when I really floor it and hold, I get a squeal from the engine when the upshift happens at high revs. I had a new belt installed by the dealer. I thought I had asked for a Gatorback at the time, but I don't remember if they had one or I ended up with the OEM belt.
Anyways, it does not make the noise at any other time.
What other possibilities could it be if it's not the belt? Could the belt need adjusting since being installed and runningfor a while? I thought they were self-adjusting nowadays.
Any ideas?

i have the same issue. the problem comes from a weak tensioner arm. it causes the belt to chirp only on a drastic rpm change. i have 80,000 miles on my truck and it just started happening. there are tensioner arm available from autozone with a pulley for 40$. dont know how much for OEM sorry.

<<Gatorback belt by goodyear.....sqeel will go away forever>>
I seem to recall that I asked the dealer for a Gatorback at the time based on the same recomendation from the forums back when. I'll have to look through my notes to see what I actually got and why.
If the noise continues to get worse, sounds like I need to check the belt I have installed, maybe try cleaning it, look at the weak tensioner arm, and possibly just get a new Gatorback.
Thanks for your help (again).

Also...
Some of the pulleys may have a small ammount of "varnish" on them from the old belt...if you feel up to the task you could take the belt off...lightly sand them and put the belt back on. Not saying that is your problem as there are multiple causes and solutions..but it may be a something simple like that.
