Unless you upgrade your turbo and get a tune for it, the 35psi gauge will be fine. The stock turbo is capable of a max of maybe 30psi, but you really don't want to run it above 25. It's very inefficient above that and just super-heats the air. Oh, and unless you have a tuner or chip, don't expect to see much above 18.
You need a gauge that is 0-35psi, any more and it will be harder to read an exact number because the scale is larger. No you do not need a vacuum side to the gauge.
Well, now that just depends, Do you plan on adding a turbo that will push higher thatn 35PSI? IF all boots are tight and wastegate actuator is tied shut you can push your stocker to 30ish Psi. but it aint good for it. any benefit of higher PSI is lost after about 26PSI on the stocker(it superheats the air) I wouln't think you would need a vac guage for anything as a diesel engine does not make a vacuum, thats why the manufacturers have to add a vac pump for the hubs and the a/c blend door.
i ordered a WW last night and i will definatly be doing more upgrades, i just wanted to know how much boost to expect with a lot of mods. If its easy too get upto and over 35 psi then i will surely buy a 60 psi. When i had my 93 lightning i installed a T-Trim sc and was making 28 psi and that was very modded and maxed out. I know turbos can make more boost than superchargers but wasnt sure if I needed a 60 psi gauge. What is expected boost on heavily modded truck?

Until you get up an H2E i think you will be fine with a 40# guage. My ISSPRO is a 40# guage, see gallery.
Stock turbo with WW should stay around 25psi max (with appropriate tuning). But it will sound very cool doing it...

Hmmm, I have hit 30 with my stock wheel on the strip. Sure, it may have been super heated but it was 30 and I was standing on the go pedal. No guts no glory. BTW, I have a 35psi gauge.
