That's why I'm trying to find off set mounts so I can use my headers and get past the Z joint. Any ideas.

http://www.midfifty.com/07catalog/Page%20123_125.pdf see the trim to fit mounts. if you were to cut the one side and add/weld it to the other, you'll get a rough idea of it being offset. I think, lol

havi I found them at mid-fifty like you said. Part # 4462. I also found the tranny cross member I was looking for I think. Part #4440 1 inch off set. If I read it right. I'll call them in the morning and make sure it's right. Thanks

I just don't know of any offset motor mounts. cuz if there are, I'd be wanting them for mine, too. This is the closest I've found for the 351w/302/351C stock mounts. But I'm going stock axle and CPP tube mounts.

Rusty,

I fabricated my own mounts which look a lot like the #4462 mounts which you can see in my gallery. They are welded to the boxing plates which I had reinforced from the backside before welding in the boxing plates. They serve as doublers to spread out the load where I welded the mounts. They could just as easily been welded to the outside of the boxing plates.
If you are trying to use block huggers (the only headers that I found to be close to a fit) you will need at least a 1" offset toward the passengers side to clear the Z joint. One inch may not be enough. I wish that I could guarantee you that 1 inch is enough but I can't since I did not try it myself. Unfortunately I think that a test fit is necessary. lol

49willard I'll try the 1 inch, if that isn't enough I'll go another 1/2. I'm going to try to get the engine as high up as possible as well. To get all the clearance I can.

Thanks havi for your help. I called mid-fifty today and talked to them. The motor mounts are 8" long plenty to cut on both and get the 1 1/2 inches off set. And I ordered the cross member 1" off set as well should have them in about 3 days. WHOO HOO can't wait.

Rusty, I suspect that you will find that the transmission mount will be slotted enough to allow you to offset the back of the transmission by the same amount (1 1/2") as the front engine mounts so it should work. You will want to have the engine/trans parallel with the frame rails (remembering that the frame rails are pinched in the front on tyour truck). There is a casing seam in the top of the 700R4 that you can reference.
