Ok I just bought my 1999 F350 Crew V10 today. I backed into the driveway and noticed the cargo light on the back of the cab is on and stays on???
I don't have a book with the truck am I missing where the switch is or is it supposed to turn off automatically but it doesn't?
Sorry if it's such a dumb question I don't want my battery to go dead.
Now I just went out there and it was turned off, I opened the door and it came on again then off as soon as I closed the door. Maybe the door switch was sticky or something. Thanks a million for the help will keep that #14 fuse in mind if it does it again.
Sure thing. Here is a tip if the door switch is sticking (which is common on our SD trucks). Just spray a lot of WD-40 in and around the door latch (switch is right there abouts). That usually does the trick.

OBTW: Go download your '99 manual. That is what I was using...to answer the fuse switch question.
Thanks for the tip, I didn't see any little switch anywhere I was wondering if it was inside the door latch. It's off now so tomorrow morning I'll hit all 4 with some WD. Both the courtesy lights have the bulbs taken out it must have been a ongoing problem.
the cargo light is on a time delay..if you open door and shut it quickly it will go right off..if it is open long enough for you to get in or out it will stay on for a couple minutes then go off..
as mentioned, switch sticking is a common problem. It's built into the latch a generous blast with wd and open and close the door several times will usually free it up. The lamp will automatically shut off after a while even with the door open, battery saver circuit or some such stuff.
