C6 issue.....

Alright, I'm at my ends with my 1988 F-250 351W C6...I've never had so many problems with a truck...In fact I find trucks that run and drive better in the junk yard! Enough of my rant though...

Alright this is the same truck that I had problems with before with the motor having all kinds of sensor and acceleration, power, and just everything problems. Now the transmission is acting up pretty bad, not as bad as before I changed the strawbery colored tranny fluid.

Currently I'm using what I call a redneck key to start my truck; it involves me turning the ingition to run then going under the truck and jumping the starter because something is so messed up with the tranny it wont start in park or neutral. It also decides to stall sometimes if I'm accelerating hard, come to a stop and then try to take off nicely...

IF anybody could tell me if this is a bad tranny problem that would be nice...its getting cooler out and come winter time I'm not going to want to crawl under my truck in the snow to start it...

OOO, just found the part of the manual with instructions for ADJUSTING instead of replacing. Here ya go:

C6
1. Hold the steering column transmission selector lever against the Neutral stop.
2. Move the sliding block assembly on the neutral switch to the Neutral position and insert a 0.091 in. (2.3mm) gauge pin in the alignment hole on the terminal side of the switch.
3. Move the switch assembly housing so that the sliding block contacts the actuating pin lever. Secure the switch to the outer tube of the steering column and remove the gauge pin.
4. Check the operation of the switch. The engine should only start in Neutral and Park.
Here's a picture to go with her.
