An interesting problem after towing..

Alright guys! It seems like yesterday was the day for everyone's vehicles to throw a fit! err..at least everyone I know..Anyways, I have myself a 95' F250, 351W, C6, 4.10's. I received a call from a friend yesterday who was coming back from drill, and his little S10 decided to blow it's head gasket. We weren't too concerned about that, we just finished building him a nice street truck. We load it onto my trailer (on the side of I-40!) and start for home. We get into town and not a block from his house my truck acts hesitant to go, and when I push the gas down to maybe 1/2 to 3/4of the way down, it quite literally will not go. I have to pump the gas to get it to his house and my house..I get to my house and i put it into park and let it idle. It'll surge, and die. I start it, rev it and it'll rev fine, but once it stops it will idle fine for a minute, surge, and sputter, then die. When it's in drive, it'll act normal until i push on the gas, then it'll do nothing, surge, and die..I'm thinking bad fuel pump...(it's okay because I have 2!) lol anyways sorry for the long story, wanted to give some background before the problem came up. Any opinions? Think I'm right? Wrong? Let me know!

Also it's connected to the rear tank, the front tank simply has no gas in it. I'm going to siphon some out of the rear and place into the front to see if it is the fuel pump. I replaced the front pump maybe 5k miles ago? and the truck is about 900 miles from hitting 200k miles total. So I'd imagine the rear pump is simply tired and needs to be retired.

Good news guys! went out today to start it, and it's PERFECTLY FINE! I'm just as confused...however, driving it around for about an hour or so, when i push on the gas petal...it bogs down...i put it from drive to 1st, and it seems to accelerate fine, but you can slightly feel a little bog...idk what it is..Torque converter going out? Transmission going out? A stupid sensor..? any ideas? suggestions..?

How long since you changed the fuel filter?

I'd wager on fuel filter also. My 94 F-250 does that when I plow.

Changed the fuel filter not even 1500 miles ago...could it really be a bad one? and as for the IAC I'll go after it with carb cleaner tomorrow.

What are you guessing and asking other people to guess? Go measure the fuel pressure and pull the codes.

I've pulled codes and it's only showing up the EGR below voltage, which i already knew, and I'd love to measure FP, however I don't have a gauge for it, but I know it's there cause when i prime the pump, and hold down that valve it shoots everywhere with a lot of force...I'll work on getting an actual gauge and taking a precise reading.

Problem is that fuel pumps can fail after they have been pumping awhile. We had an issue with one that would fail after the vehicle had been running for over 15 mins. Worked fine on start up but the longer you drove it the weaker it would get till the car wouldnt run anymore. Just an idea may or may not be whats wrong.

I've had that happen a couple of times. Fine when cold but when the pump heats up they quit.
