My friend has 97 F350 w/dual tanks. On occasion, thier is a small fuel leak that he cannot determine where it is coming from. He has isolated the leak to one tank. Does anyone have a diagram or photo of the line(s) showing ther path from tank to engine?
the fuel lines run on the inner side of the driver side fram rail. Have him do some back tracking through the hard lines to where they meet the rubber lines off the tank.
you said on occasion right? not always, it could be when he fill up the thank? or when? My front tank leaks a little and not for too much time, if I fill it up, very, very up.
Most of the leaks that I have seen that only happen when the tanks are full have been from the rollover valve. It was either stuck open from gunk in it or it had worked out of the rubber gourmet that holds it in. So if it only leaks when full, have him check it.
my truck used to have leaky fuel hoses, replaced those along with the fuel pump, found out that i didn't tighten the nut on the back of the fuel pump enough (it's like a 1 1/4 inch nut!!) so i had to retighten that, that stopped leaking, that little sensor thing on the side of the fuel canister started leaking cause the rubber boot thing fell off, put a zippy-tie around that to hold it in place and my truck leaks maybe 1 drop every 100 miles
