Fuel Leak Help
Fuel Leak Help
I have a 92 F250 with a 7.3 IDI engine. Today I replace the fuel lines from the fuel switching valve to the fuel line hoses on both the front and rear tanks. I started the truck and I now have a fuel leak from the top of the front tank. I know it isn't the tank as I was able to put my hand on the top and stop the leak from spraying out. As I put my hand up there, it felt like the line was actually a metal line not the rubber hose line. I know that the sending unit has metal lines on top of it to hook to. Is there an easy way to tell if the sending unit metal lines have rusted out or if it is a hose clip / o-ring issue? I was hoping that I might be able to do something without having to drop the tank. This truck is pretty rusty underneath as I use it for plowing, so the straps / the bolts are pretty rusty and I am concerned what I might open up dropping the tank, not to mention that the tank is full. I know the answer will most likely be that I have to drop the tank, but I am hoping someone can tell me something different.
