my truck has gone thru 4 throttle pedal assemblies in 3 months.. i thought it was something to do with my ts performance chip, so i removed the chip and this last pedal lasted about a month, and it just went out today...im not sure what the problem could be.... please help!!! ps: my truck has the adjustable pedals 2002 f-350 4x4 dually crewcab
these were brand new from the dealer...i dont know what u mean open...it starts out with the throttle pedal going down about 1/2 inch before u get any throttle.. then about two days later it'll just go all the way to the floor...if i stomp the pedal then it will go, and that is how i make it home
i have done that but they just want me to make an appointment to bring it in... i may have to do bring it to them but i wanted to check with everyone here first..

I think we can rule out the pedal assembly at 4 new units. My guess is you have a wiring/connection problem causing the pedal assambly to fail. Do you have a good shop manual? You are going to have to do some extensive pinout testing or take it to the dealer and have it repaired. How do you feel about that?
if yall agree that i need to take it to the dealer, then i feel pretty good about it..im pretty mechanically inclined, and i have owned 4 powerstrokes, and i know that there are probably several things it could be, so i would rather have someone else do the checking and testing...i know that about three weeks before this started, is when i put new exhasut, and new exhasut brake, also the ts chip and pillar gauges..
Well, the reason I asked is because electrical shorts and problems can challenge even the best mechanics. Pinout testing is tedious and gaurantees nothing but eliminating that circuit. If you feel up to it, someone or myself could dig up the regimen but even that is tedious to dig up and post. That's what we are here for though.
If I were you, I would review my gauge install and anything else done recently that may have an electrical impact.
when we installed the exhaust brake, we had to splice a wire at the throttle pedal, i just wonder if that is where the problem is???i will get into this on saturday, and i'll start there, and i'll look for anything that is obvious, if i dont come up with anything, then i'll take it to the dealer... thx to all !!

Strange coincidence? Want to get into a small wager on the problem?
I had a customers superduty doing something similar, it was poping the fuse for the pedal assembly, we ended up tracing it back to the wire going to the overdrive button, it rubbed through its coating from being shifted back and forth. sometimes it would rub the metal and short out, removed plastic around column and repaired wire, its been good for about a year, hopefully this will help.
