Drop Shackles

What exactly is there to a set of drop shackles, anything special? The only thing special i can see is bushings. So would it be possible to fab up my own and just take the bushings out of the stock and put it into these or am i just better off to buy a set.

You probably won't find a bushing that will fit in the piece of D.O.M you would need, but any machine shop should be able to resize it for you.
