Are you taking it above 2000rpms? or above 70 mph?
Also, what year, is it a 4x4, auto or stick, what size tires, does it have a lift on it? all these can affect mileage.
Mine is pretty much a stock 01 F-250 7.3L... 285's on the tires instead of the 265's. It is pushing 170,000 miles, and I am getting about 16mpg or so with mixed city/highway driving. I think I could pull 18 maybe 19 mpg on just highway.
I rarely go over 70mph, and rarely gun it and get the rpms above 2000. I drive it like a old lady.
01 4x4 slightly bigger tires auto trans no lift. I have put on about 2k miles and always check the mileage, the most i got was on a trip i took, mostly highway, only got 14 mpg at most. i have seen these trucks get 18 to 20 mpg. highly disappointed
Like all said, driving style, more info on the truck. Maintenance (fuel filters, tire pressure, IC Boots tight, EPBV valve/tube cleaned, and the list goes on)
Yes and no, The ebp SENSOR is fed by a tube from the manifold, this tube, as well as the sensor that is on the front of the block above the crank, needs to be removed periodically and cleaned out . The EBP Valve is located in the pedistal of the turbo and is activated due to a series of conditions being met. It is activated to close off and put a light load on the engineto facilitate a faster warm up.
I think that Alpine might have confused you with his typo and by listing the EBPS tube and EBPvalve in the same comment, when in reality the valve is controlled by the sensor but it is not attached to it except by wire from the sensor through the PCM.
