I have a 95 powerstroke F-250 and it just started acting up. It will run good then every once in a while it will act like its only running on 4 cyl. Check engine light comes on during this time but doesn't set a code. Usually if I let it get back to idle it will start running fine again and be ok for the rest of the day. Sometimes it will do it a couple times but so far returns to normal. I changed the CPS but it had no effect. Changed the fuel filter and cleaned the air cleaner. Injector driver going bad?
you have some bad wiring.
check the 4 plugs that plug into your vc(valve cover) gaskets.
if you find nothing pull the vc's and inspect the other side of the gaskets and the uvc(under valve cover wiring harness) i will post some part #'s for you later. its pretty cheap and easy to fix.
I could use the part no's for those external VC plugs, I have one that's burnt. BTW, it looks pretty tight to get the passenger side VC's off, any good suggestion's on procedure?
peel the silver insulation off the heater box and that will expose a small rectangular box with a vaccum hose running to it. there are two screws that hold the box to the heater box. take that off and it will come off no problem. the box is just a vaccum reservior.

TJ, is that insulation rrequired? I pulled it down to remove the condenser box and when i pulled it back up it looks like pure crap.
No its not required. My truck doesn't have it anymore. It's just there to help the A/C and cool air from heating in the heater box but my A/C is plenty cold.
Good, its being junked then. My air doesn't work, I've actually never had a vehicle that it has worked in. Maybe someday when I get old I'll breakdown and fix the air in the beast.
well, well, well, that was fun!! went ahead and removed the foil and accumulator. still had a heck of a time getting to that back VC bolt. turn turn turn and no luck, then i realized it was never tight and i was turning it after all...
ran into the same thing with the top bolt on my starter, arrgh. anyway, finally got the VA off last night, harder than everyone portray's here BTW! (wimper, wimper)
so i took off the gasket and peered into the connector hole to see a mass of burnt plastic and what i thought might be the very tip of the pin to the GP. sure nuff, cleaned it out with an exacto and brake cleaner to reveal a charred, and bent over but still usable pin that caused the feed connector to self destruct I bet! now i have to go back to the dealer today and get the right pin insert for the new connector shell they sold me last night. frustrating they could not come up with a part number for the pin. i'll update y'all after i get everything back together, hope she fires right up!
