Rally can you tell me more about those springs?? Did they affect the handling of your truck? Did you get it realigned? have to get the steering wheel re-centered? Do you plow snow with that truck? How did the truck sit when you installed the springs? Did you have to do anything to the back? I'm really up in the air between a leveling kit (just a spacer), buying heavier lift springs like yours, or doing nothing at all. If I go with a lift or even a leveling spacer, I'd probably need new bigger tires, which I'm om with since the Conti's blow, but man are 18's big $$$. So then I thought about buying some 17" wheels on ebay and selling my 18's, but I dont know which way to go. ANy advice???

I recently put the 2" aluminum block under my stock coils/buckets. Works great! My truck is an 05 cc with the diesel and I run a boss 8' v blade plow in the winter. THe truck still dives when I have the plow on, but I'm going to fix that with a set of helper air bags in the coils. WIth the plow off the truck rides great, better than stock with the Bilstein 5100 shocks I put on. As for tires, I also felt the pain in the bank account when looking for a set of 18" tires. I ended up getting a set of 325/65r18 Pro Comp Xtreme AT's from 4wheel parts. The trick is to get the cosmetic blems as they are much cheaper. They still run the same warranty as the original's, and I can't see anything wrong with them except for the "blemish" stamp that was put on them. They measure out at 35x13.25x18 and I run them on my stock wheels. They don't rub, even with the plow on unless I am off camber a bit, but this is my mostly street driven truck, so it's not a real problem. And when they do rub, it is on the plastic inner fender way far away from any sheetmetal or suspension parts, so that's not a big issue either.

I don't have any pics of the truck finished, but I'll try to get some this weekend and post them up for reference.

Hey kjett,

I have 06 F250 FX4 PSD Supercrew. 38k on the Conti's. I live in FL but go to WV hunting every year plus tow 20' enclosed trailer with ATVs. Would like to go with some more aggressive tires but cant swing $300 ea for Toyo's. Can you give me more info on the Pro Comps? I assume you have to do the leveling kit for them to fit?

How much did you pay for the tires? Any other help appreciated!

Like I said in my post above, i have a 2" leveling kit which is nothing more than a pair of aluminum blocks under the stock lower coil buckets. The Pro Comp Xtreme AT's look like a MT and an AT got together and made puppies and these are the result. They ride like an AT, as they are quiet, have a 40k mile tread warranty, and are an "E" load range. As a matter of fact, each tire handles a max load of 3860 lbs!

Then the other side is they work well off road, granted I don't use my big CC diesel as a mud truck, mainly a tow/plow/daily driver vehicle. But I do take it into the fields to the edge of the woods when I go hunting, and they wide lug pattern of the Xtreme AT's suit my needs.

As for the price, I paid $870 for all 4 tires shipped to my house from 4wheelparts. Remember I bought the blemish tires and not the regular full price tires, so that's why they were so inexpensive. If I had bought the normal tires without the blemish marking, they would have cost close to $1500 shipped to my house, I can't see paying that much for something that is going to be used mainly on the street and will wear out.

Kjett, do I just call 4wheel parts and ask them for the cosmetic blemish? Do you know if they have them in the 20" size?

I called yesterday and they quoted me something like $1050 or so. He said that the Blemish marking was about 8" long branded into them and said he would not put them on a new truck. Ok for a mudder or work truck but the brand was pretty noticiable.

Still about $500 savings over 4 new ones if looks doesn't matter...

That marking is nowhere near 8" long! It is actually about 4", and you really can't notice it unless you get down really close and inspect the tire. The normal person waling by won't notice it. Now, I wouldn't put them in a car show, but for normal driving and working of the truck, why not get them just for the cost savings alone.....

I'll take some pics and post them up when I get home. The truck may be a little dirty, but it is a daily driver/working truck.
