leaking exaust manifold

hello, on my 88 f-250 5.8 i have a leaking manifold. it is where the manifold meets the exaust pipe. i can break the bottom one free, but the top one is harder. i used plenty of pb blaster, but my ? is can i use a impact on it or will that break it off even faster. the method i been using is a hand ratchet and a little patiance using firm pressure. thank you, allen

I use an impact on mine you may break it off but if you use penatrating oil from both top and bottom they usually come okay.

well i am not using a breaker bar, did not think of it i will try tommorow thank you. while im at it i am going to get new studs . do you think that it will it seal back up or is it gone. dumb ? but i guess i will find out soon enough. thanks allen
