There was a redesign of the cylinder heads as I stated. I will check when and what changed later tonight there is a TSB on it in my Mitchell On Demand.
That's funny I've had 2 of diff versions of the Durmax since 02 and I've never heard of this TSB nor can I google it - nor have I seen it on any forums other than fictisious rumor a lot like this 1.
Yeah, the 6.7s are having some problems, however most of it seems to be DPF and Computer related. From what i've been reading, the engine itself has been mostly fine. They had some problems early on where the computer messed up, and let the DPF get plugged completely.
But don't forget people usually come to forums because of problems. Something like 80% of all Dodge's pickup sales are diesel too.
I have never heard of or witnessed a problem concerning melting of Duramax heads.
Mike
Neither have I. I refered to the well established fact that when aluminum heads are installed on a cast iron block and that engine overheats, the heads are much more likely to warp due to the different expansion ratios between cast iron and aluminum. Someone else quoted something about melted heads.

You were simpy stating what MIGHT happen after the engine overheats. You will have to excuess the over pertective Duracrap guy's.

I have no hard feelings toward D-Max. Just stating facts about mixing cast iron and aluminum. As you know the Ford 5.4, and V10 also have alum. heads and run the same risk in an overheat.

Why do you hang out with us Ford guys? I mean our trucks are no good anyway. Have you been banned from the Dura-crap sites? Just wondering.
I don't think he has ever said that Fords suck. He is defending his own truck about misconceptions
I didn't say he said Ford's suck. I don't care about that, I just wondered why he's on the Ford forum so much. I'm sure that over on the d-max forums he would not have to defend his truck make.
