428 intake "s"code #c7ae 9425 e 7b6. will this match up to a 390 block. Also this is a way better manifold than stock, right? There is one on ebay thats what brought it up.
Thanks.......Wickman
While the CJ intake is a ton better than any stock truck intake on an FE. The price of that stock CJ intake needs to be taken into consideration. Much over $250 in My Opinon you should buy a much better aluminum. Lighter and flows better. something to think about.
Scotty.
P.S. PLease forgive me if you read any post that I have put on during this day as I have had less than 3 hours sleep since Friday when i got up and I am still up at 3:00 am Sunday morning. Tryed to sleep I just can't. but, I am running on empty. Guess I hadn't had my daily truck fix.
Somewhere in the 70's. I think it was F-250 and above but it may have been for the F-100 also. Don't have the info in front of me right now. The 360 never came with a 4bbl though.
Hmmm, Didn't know there was a 4 barrel on a truck until the 80s and on a 351W then. Anyone ever seen one of those FEs with a 4 barrel from the factory.

John, I'm guessing it may have something to do with what assembly plant the truck came from. Here in Michigan, the factory 4 barrel (holley 600 w/annular boosters) on a cast iron manifold 390 is a very common, see 'em everyday, kinda thing. At least as many 390s as 360s in our area. So many iron cast iron four barrel intakes most shops either throw them out, or sell them for 5$. I paid 50$ for a cast iron 428CJ intake. DF
Sean's right, in '74 the 390 came in an "M" code with a 4V manifold. Some manifolds had EGR and some didn't. It wasn't the "S" manifold but a "T" manifold. I got some pics of it at work, there were two or more versions of it.
Very interesting, 390s from the factory with a 4 barrel on a F series truck. I know I have read a discussion here that there were none.
Barry, I thought the T series was a 2 barrel only, at least the one on my 390 on the engine stand is.

I was curious, so I checked ebay.
Those must be really hot manifolds.
With almost 2 hours left of bidding it's already $405.
Out of my range, that's for sure.
