"With 400 hp and 400 lb.-ft. of torque, GTO hustles from 0-60 in 5 seconds flat, turning the quarter mile in 13.3 seconds. Impressive stuff, this, worthy of old school GTOs..."

Indeed. It was early and dark -- had I known what I was really tangling with, I may have thought twice about it. I got off it after the speedo dropped back to zero and the EGTs were holding up there a bit too long...

It was bound to happen sooner or later, but I really thought it was just another ricer...

Seriously, what were you thinking?

Well, I was in the 13s with my 'stang after the bored 351 made it in there. I wanted low 12s but never made it. I had visions of ported aluminum heads and manifold, Holley 750, maybe some NOx.... I'm sure I would've made my goal, but I just ran out of time, $$$$, and had to move to Tampa, where a car like that would never have passed the sniffer. It broke my heart to sell it, but I had to.

What I have now is perfect -- lots of room for anything I need to do, it can pull a house (literally), and is a lot faster than most folks think. Maybe big oil, big sticks, and a new turbo are in the cards, but not just yet......

I was thinking it was just another ricer, or possibly another Grand Prix (which I had already shown tail lights and soot to a week ago). It was behind me and in the dark -- what would YOU think it was??

Had one of those GTOs up at one of the tracks I race at, first time I lined up with him my reaction time was quick enough and with the 4x4 launch he ran out of real estate before he caught me (but not by much win was by less than a tenth) next time he didn't make that mistake, and got me pretty bad (still had him off the line but not for long) those things are fast adn I think the first time we raced he was suprised by what a 7000lb truck was capable of and didn't take it serious.
