Re-Startup Pointers

Well, As some of you may have read. I posted a thread referencing a catastrophic internal coolant leak that my 2002 powerstroke developed last week which turned out to be a blown out freeze plug in the head due to improper machining by the factory. Anyway, I pulled the engine for numerous reasons including an oil pan leak and numerous exhaust leaks both manifold and up-pipes. Anyway, I stripped the block, cleaned it, rebuilt it, and regasketed it. BTW, it has 100,453 miles on it. My question for you guys is, is there anything aside from priming the HPOP that i should be aware of to aid in re-startup.

Not other than letting the fuel pump run over a few cycles without cranking to purge some of the air out (just like you do when changing the fuel filter). I would think it would fire right up at that point.

BTW, that's a helluva job in what seems like a fairly short time. That was only a few days ago, wasn't it??

Do not burn up the starter. I would go no more than 10-15 seconds each try, and there ought to be several to many as air is pushed out of the HPO lines and rails. Take your time. Let it cool off and perhaps have the batteries on a charger or fully charged.

The truck hss been down and out for about 2 weeks. Actually, tomorrow is the 2 week mark. Its been a lot of work, but now i know exactly what i have under the hood. Wasnt bad, I actually enjoyed it a bit since its been a wile since i did any serious wrenching. Im still a little sore over the raping it took from the dealer for the front cover gaskets though...$124.00. Pleessseee. I got my new edge evolution the other day but still waiting for my new turbo wheel. Hope it gets here today or tomorrow as im planning on planting the engine thursday.
