OK, Here's the problem, Getting on entrance ramp to interstate towing 20 ft boat and the truck seems like its stuck in 3rd gear no power then engine tachs up hi like its in neutral. Pull over, No forward but it will go in reverse. Is it new transmission time? Its a 460 srw 4x4 overdrive. What is the trans model? Thanks for any help you guys can give me. Tom

if you have overdrive its a E4OD i would get the tranny flushed and put in a bottle of lucas trannsmission fix, worked wonders on my truck , but i do agree sounds like one of you clutches is bad, try and put it in 1st and 2nd then 3rd will ir go into any of those gears? what does the trany fluid smell like? burnt? remember you arnt supose to tow in overdrive there is too much heat build up and you dont have enough torque in overdrive

Thanks guys Its toast, I'm putting in the ford reman this week. 3 year 36 warrantee. I figure its worth it. The truck has 120k on it NO rust anywhere and the paint is still shiny. I get compliments everywhere I go with it.
