I have a 77 F250 "High Boy" it has the 351m/NP435 4 speed. It has the standard rotation(low pinion) open knuckle Dana 44 in the front and a Dana 60 in the rear; with the divorsed NP205 t-case. I read somewhere that some of these trucks that came with automatics had NP203 full time t-case.
My girlfriend's 77 F150 has with 351m/C6 with the married mount NP203. It has a high pinion Dana 44 up front and a 9" in the rear.
I would also think a Super Cab (For the '73-'77)
And Crew Cab F-250 4x4s were HiBoys as well, Right?

Hope you find the answers to any questions you may have!
May God continue to Bless you through the New 2010 Year.
Ford4X4ingboy: Yes. Look at my sig -- if your truck resembles mine and it's a 67 4x4 it's a 'highboy'. "Highboy" is just a word. It's an 67 f250 4x4, so the factory workers were probably 'high', the salesmen were probably 'high', the construction crew that ran the truck was probably 'high', the truck is tall; ie: 'high'. It's a 'highboy'. Just don't drive 'high'...
Well, Mine kinda looks like that but it doesn't look as tall. thats why i was wondering. It is rolling 275s stock and they look kinda small and it is a 1976 F250 4X4 so i just didn't know. and it also has the 390 in it. I heard somewhere that the highboy had the 331 in it....oh and I meant that I have a 76. not a 67. sorry

Is your 76 lifted at all? or did you just slap on some bigger tires?
Not to cause any ripples, but have a 1975 Highboy titled as a highboy from the beginning, also my freinds 1976 is titled as a F-250 Highboy. This could have been done though in the initial titling stages, due to the lack of restrictions back then. As far as cost I pick them up for around 500.00 to 1000.00 in fair condition and running street legal. Out in this part of the country they are rusted but not trashed (yet). Me and a freind of mine collect and restore them, for fun. They are by far my favorite trucks 1973- mid 1977,3 drivelines and as mentioned a divorced transfer case(unmarried). Also the frames are 2 1/2 inches narrower than the standard frame on a 1973 to 1979 ford truck. They have to be a F-250 to be a "Highboy". There is no such thing as a F100 or F150 "Highboy". Also if you need some parts I found one in a local salvge yard, just came in with good drive train parts and some miscellaneous parts also. Be Happy and have a good day!
Hi im new here. Im in the process of fixing up my 68 F250 4X4. I was wondering what kind of maintanence there was in the front ends on the wipe seals ive heard about but ive never really seen, and are these available anywheres?????Ive been told there felt. I think anyone that knows the answer knows what ones im talking about but there where the "ball" moves in its "socket" when it steers at the end of the axle housing. Make sense???
As a kid I had a cool poster with a 1969 F-250 4x4 on it it was originaly a Ford print ad, but across the top in big letters it said "Factory High Rider" then gave all the specs and options.
If you look at older Dodges that ran divorced T-cases they also sat up pretty high. The 67-72 ran the Dana 24 where the 73-77.5 ran the NP203 both divorced I know there was some sort of option that got you the 205 on 73-77.5 but cant remember. I did have at one time a low pinion dana 60 open knuckle/disc brakes from a 76 F250 with no provision for the power assist ram, I was told if you optioned the snow fighter you got manual steering.

High Boy: Not Ford terminology. It's an enthusiasts term for 1967/76 F250 4WD's and 1977 F250 4WD's assembled before serial number Y20,001.
For all the naysayers out there that claim 1967/72 F250 4WD's aren't High Boys, be aware the frame is basically the same 1967/76 and 1977 before Y20,001.
All have rear frame rails that are 33 1/2" apart. All have divorced transfer cases.
Just to clarify: There is NO SUCH THING AS AN F350 HIGH BOY = NONE!
The first F350 4WD was available in 1979.
The last High Boy was made in 1977 before serial number Y20,001.
All High Boys are F250 4WD Regular or Crew Cab Styleside pickups.
Originally the term only applied to 1973/77's. Now some ppl include 1967/72's as well.
Original usage of the term High Boy: Removing the fenders from a 1928/32 Ford Roadster doesn't expose the frame. The splash guards/running boards also have to be removed.
i know they didnt make a f350 high boy ,but i built one here the link for pics
