Casey, I run an Oil Guard system on my truck. They come with:
Included Installation Material:
Fittings: Two 90 degree JIC Elbows (OilGuard filter head ports)
Two straight 1/8- NPT JIC fittings (Pressure and Return Port)
Special Oil Drain Plug (For Oil Return)
Four #4 JIC Swivel Push-Loc Hose ends and 8 ft. of Hose
Installation was simple and all of the fittings and hose worked great. The push lock fittings are easier that having hoses made with JIC ends, and for this application they hold just as well. All you do is install the fitting, route your hose, cut the hose and press it onto the fitting.
Just a thought but you might give them a call and see how much just the installation kit would be.
Thanks Plowhand. I will get a hold of them. I didn't know that a system that simple would work for the install. Isn't the preasure coming out of the engine at 300 psi. I thought thats what I had heard somewhere on here. I guess those preasure fittings would hold that kinda preasure. The problem I have been running into is the return line on my system the one going to the 3/8 npt port on the engine is really big. On the unit itself is -12, JIC, 3/4" id, so I have been trying to find a reducer down to 1/2" i.d. and then putting an adapter on the engine side to 1/2"i.d. to 3/8" npt. I will give thsoe a guys a call maybe they can put a special kit togather for me.
Casey, you are dealing with oil pressure of around 70 psi max. This is the engine oil pressure your tapping into, not the HPOP for the injectors. If you have problems finding the fittings that you need, let me know what you need and I'll put them together for you and send them over.
