Hey guys. it`s been a while since I posted. I had a deal for a 53 that fell through so I put the search on hold for a while. Anyway, I found a 55 with a galaxy cross member. I`ve never seen one with this cross member. Is this a common conversion? The price is good and looks to be in pretty decent shape but I was looking for a truck with a stock frame so I could install a MII set up. Thanks guys.
FF56 has done many Effies with full size Ford IFS. They ride very well and are generally more stout than an MII. If you consider that any aftermarket MII will cost thousands in parts alone, this may be a good find.
Thanks for the info. good point about the MII set up. The guy is asking $1975 but i`m sure he will take less. He started at just over $3k a few months back.
My 55 has a Crown Vic front clip which the main difference is my steering box is out front of the crossmember where yours is behind. IF you don't buy the 53 would you send me some pictures. Sounds interesting.
Depends on the year. Like a 68 came factory with either a 240,302,390, and 428. A 72 had 240,302,351W,351C/400, and 429. Now if you are willing to make motor mounts you can put any Fomoco engine in it. You would have problems although with the MOD motors because the steering box to exhaust manifold clearance would not be good at all. THanks DOnald
