I've also noticed that while the sound didn't change much in the cab of the truck, it did change when you stand back by the exhaust and have someone hit the go pedal. Have you tried that Bowhunter?

If you walk / stand behind my truck it is nothing more then a WHOOSH sound... I even took the hole system off and ran it out of the new down tube.... NO cat not muffler.... WHOOSH>..
My son's 7.3 sounds AWESOME... mine... like a jet eng...
It sounds like a jet because of the turbo acting like a muffler. If you were straight piped you'd still hear the woosh on idle, but sounds like a dirt tracker on WOT. The main benefit of the exhaust is EGT reduction. Sound is a bonus.
It is straight... NO cat, wide open muffler... see my last post..
Nope--you don't have a thing wrong. Different motors different turbo's. A tuned 6.0 sounds even different yet. Most of it is due to the variable veins I believe. I wish I could get you a sound byte of mine--it's NASTY sounding at WOT. Any muffler at all is still not straight piped--they do sound totally different straight piped.

Like I said.. disconnected the cat from the downpipe and WHOOSH>..
??? I actually HATE it,,, but a spent to much to go back to stock..
That I gained NO sound with the exhaust... It is more like a Whoosh out of the tail pipe.
The eng bay has all the nosie...Like a normal PSD.
I received NO performace increases or Mileage from this mod.
Was it worth it??? Maybe...
GOOD luck , hope you eng it...
Have you heard your truck from the outside? Or only the inside? There is not much of a difference in sound in the cab but there is outside. Have a buddy drive the truck by you down the road. If you still don't hear a difference besides the turbo, something isn't right.

i know the whoosh sound you refer to, it is a 6.0 thing, and personally i think it's great. sounds like a jet engine when you're idling, but go tell someone to stomp the pedal and you stand back and listen to it, you'll change your mind.
it is quality, i must say though, that on a lifted truck there are fitment issues with tailpipe piece, we had to TIG weld about 6" onto it
(we used part of the piece we cut to fit the short bed)
Hi LvTitian yes fitment on a lifted trucks is difficult , all of our systems are based off of totally stock trucks with no mod's, as stated in the instructions any modifcations may effect the system fittting properly
how about sound in the cabin when towing? generally the go pedal is a little further down with 10K behind the truck. i would be interested in the egt reduction of mbrp/magnflow, but really don't want to have more noise in the cabin on all day tows. possible?

Hi mlytle we have sold thousands of these systems with no concers of nosie in cab when pulling a trailer.
like beerstocker said notmuch difference in sound untill your out side the truck.

thanks for the info. i saw a lot of conversation about no noise increase in the cabin, but didn't see if it was towing or not. i had a bad previous experience on a different tow vehicle with different exhaust. sounded fine on the highway with not trailer, but when towing it had a horrible drone in the cabin. just a little gun shy...
