Regarding my 2003 6.0. Can anyone tell me what error code ODB2285 refers to. I am pretty sure I have a blown headgasket and am wondering what damage I am doing by continuing to drive it. my milage is at 93,500 and with a 100,000 mi. warranty. I know I have to get it into the shop soon. Just have a hard time being without it. Also I am recently experiancing a jerky throttle at low RPM. It's like the truck has a mind of it's own. You have to make sure you are ready to brake at all times. I have also had a oil leak since new, main seal we think, which Ford plans to fix under warranty as soon as I can be without my truck for acouple of weeks.
Any feedback or commisorration would be greatly appreciated. New to this site but looks pretty cool. Craig Walters csw@inreach.com

Code P2285: Injector Control Pressure Sensor Circuit Low. Default open loop control - underrun at idle, ICP is less than 0.04 volts. ICP circuit short to ground or open, defective sensor.
More than likely a bad ICP sensor. This is the reason your truck is not running properly and has a "mind of its own". BTW the only way to determine if you have a leaking head gasket or leaking EGR cooler is to have the 6.0 tech pressure test the engine. If you do end up needing new head gaskets then i would recommend you purchase ARP headstuds and have the 6.0 tech install them.
Just to add to Blackhats info, make sure if it does have a leaking head gasket that the tech checks the heads for flatness, as the 03/04 had some machining quality issues and some torquing issues that caused some warpage as well as pinched HG's from the assembly line.
It's great to have some information and know a little something as far what I am talking about. Another thing I'm wondering is if I'm hurting anything by continuing to drive my truck??

It is hard to say for sure wether or not you are causing additional problems by driving your truck, since it is not known the full extent of the problems. If it is just an ICP sensor it could potentially cause you to have a traffic accident if it is surging when stopped or at low speed and it may potentially increase the wear on the injectors if they are not getting the proper fuel pressure or flow. If you also have a bad head gasket(s) or EGR cooler leak you could hydrolock the motor and damage rods etc. Best bet is to take the truck in as soon as possible and get it properly diagnosed and repaired. These problems are not going to go away on there own and will only get worse, possibly leaving you stranded someplace.
If it turns out to only be the ICP sensor is bad, 6.0 tech should be able to fully diagnose (this includes pressure testing the head gaskets and EGR cooler) and repair the truck in a day.
Also there is a recall out on 6.0 PSD manufactured from Sept 29, 2003 - May 31, 2004. It was isssued on June 10, 2005 and is still in effect, don't know if your truck falls under this or not.
"DEALERS WILL UPGRADE THE FUEL INJECTION CONTROL MODULE (FICM) WIRE HARNESS OR REPLACED, AND/OR HAVE A NEW INJECTION CONTROL PRESSURE (ICP)) SENSOR CONNECTOR INSTALLED FREE OF CHARGE. THE RECALL BEGAN ON JULY 22, 2005. OWNERS MAY CONTACT FORD AT 1-800-392-3673." Recall 05S34
