Well I'm the kind of person when something breaks, I don't replace it, I upgrade it.
This morning while washing the engine I saw a very small soot trail on the driver's side up-pipe just under the donut gasket. Drove it around today and checked again, now I"ve got the pipe covered in soot and it's starting to collect on the firewall. Apparently I caught the leak right as it began, but it's getting worse fast.
So I need recommendations on new up-pipes. I'll be trashing the stock ones and looking for something better that won't be prone to leaking again. Hit me up with what you're running, price, why you like (or dislike) them, etc.
Im thinkin about doing mine too, what would it take for you to do a guzzle type picture right up on this Curtis?
Not much, just gotta remember to bring the camera outside. The job will have to be done from the top of the engine (turbo side). So it's going to be the harder way of swapping up-pipes.
The bad part is that if they were going to leak, I wish it happened when I had the BTS installed. Would have been nice to take care of it then with the trans out.
So far everywhere I've posted this everybody has responded with getting the BWD pipes. Slightly overwhelming, eh? Hey good products speak for themselves, that's why I ask.
Thanks Curtis, when i do mine i think im going to go with the non ceramic ones like Dan. It sure would be nice if our trucks had a DOGHOUSE like the E series
