I wonder if someone could double check my part selection...
The latch mechanism that is on the door (that hits the striker plate) looks fine on the passenger side, but the drivers side looks worn (the bolt that extends out sits in an oblong oval opening vs original round opening), and so the door has play in it, and rattles.
Does this seem like the appropriate part(Dennis Carpenter)?

Kinda hard to tell w/out pic. Wow, did not realize they were that expensive. The latch on my 65 are slightly worn and had to adjust striker plate to take up slack. I marked original position w/ marking pen then loosened just enough to where the striker plate would move with some pressure. As you are probably aware, striker plate can be move up/down, sideways, or tighten top and move bottom portion, or vis vers, etc. If decide to try and adjust suggest very small increments, although, there is only so much adjustment before needs replacing. May be a short term fix until able to find a good used one. Have catalog from another supplier who list the LH latch mech. as (LH) C3TZ-21813-81C, imagine each supplier has their own part number sys. If decide to order suggest contact and inquire whether part is in stock, and if they have return policy should it not be the correct part. Most will not have problem w/ return as long as don't attempt to install the part.

You can also adjust the door mechanism a little bit. I had to do the same thing with my doors when they didn't line up correctly. I ended up adjusting the hinges, stricker plates, and door latches to take all the play out of my doors and get them to close right.
