83 bolt on 79

i have a 1983 ford f150 with the ford inline 6 300 and was wondering if the engine parts would bolt up to a 79 inline 6 300? Also is the electrical the same.

I haven't looked at a 6 in decades, but like any swap from one body style to another I'd expect headaches.

The engines should bolt right in. The electrical may be different due to different emissions regulations. You should be able to use the 83 motor with the 79 electronics,(swap the distributor, and accessories)
