Where is there a good source for high performance parts for my 300 inline Ford . Has anybody ever heard of a place called six to eight research? Would appreciate some info.
That would be Clifford Research (6=8 is their tag line). They sell thru several places: JC Whitney, and I think Summit and www.jegs.com might have them too.
I'd expect a 4v intake and headers are the most common upgrade followed with a cam/lifter combo.
I don't think these are high revving engines, so keep that in mind with the choice of carb and jetting.
I'm not good at these msg boards. There is good article about upgrading sixes in Custom Classic Trucks magazine August 01 issue. They have a website customclassictrucks.com. Also have some more supplier info:
cliffordperformance.com ph(909)734-3310
summitracing.com
secoperformance.com
PAW (ads in most car magazines)
Hemmings News (also have wesite)
Go to Cliffordperformance.com they have a message forum that will help you out. I would recommend calling them they will answer your questions. They are a little pricey but just about the only dedicated place to the inline. Try compcams.com they have a lot of pieces for the 300 cheaper too roller rockers, cams, lifters, etc.. Also try Venom-performance.com they have a nice nitros system ,fuel pumps ,injectors depending on your application. Clifford is the only place to sell clifford parts I believe. They will help you out though if you give them a call. I have bought things from them. Good luck
